Blogger Men Tell All - February Edition (Just a Little Late)

"I'm late. I'm late. For a very important date."

I fee like that should be my motto for all of these link ups because I swear every month I am explaining why I am late and can't actually link my post to the link up.  One month I will be on time for all of them, but February just wasn't that month for me.  Once again the end of the month has passed me by, BUT I am not going to give up an opportunity to interview the husband for a blog post, so we are just going to have TWO "Blogger Men Tell All" posts for March... the very late February one and then the March one!

one// What is your favorite winter hobby?
Mark: Snow.
Me: That isn't a hobby.
Mark: Everything about snow. Any activity involving snow. And hockey.

two// Did you do anything special for your blogger on February 14th?
Mark: I helped make you dinner.  I took you shopping for a gift that we couldn't get.

*Note* I desperately need a new winter jacket and we went shopping for one, but had more luck finding bathing suits than we did winter jackets... seriously, when did they stop selling winter jackets in the middle of winter?! Although I think part of the problem is I am allergic to down, so that kind of limits my jacket choices.

three// What is your favorite candy?
Mark: Peeps.

four// Which Rom-Com would  you choose to watch while you snuggle up with your Valentine?
Mark: What?!
Me: I'm guessing you don't know what "rom-com" means?
Mark: Uh huh.
Me: Romantic Comedy
Mark: I don't know.
Me: Can I pick one?
Mark: I guess.

*I am pretty sure he would just let me pick one anyway lol*

five// Who, in your opinion, is the best U.S. President ever?
Mark: Teddy Roosevelt
Me: Why?
Mark: Why do I need a why?
Me: Because I want to know.
Mark: Because I said so.

Well, there you have it friends... another month of interviewing the husband!! Check back later this month for March's edition of "Blogger Men Tell All" and don't forget check out our fabulous linkup hosts, Samantha at The Samantha Life and Becca at Becoming Adorrable along with the blogs of some of the lovely ladies who participated in the February link up!!

Blogger Men Tell All... His Thoughts on Me & Blogging

Hello friends!! It's that time of the month again... time for Mark to get a chance to take over my blog for the day.  That's right... it is time to link up with Samantha over at The Samantha Life, Becca over at Becoming Adorrable and Melissa at Daily Chaos for their Blogger Men Tell All link-up!  I love this link up because I think it is really important for you to get to know the man behind my blog, because well Mark has helped to make me who I am which has in turn helped to shape this blog into what it is today!

This month Mark will be answering some questions about me and this little blog of mine!!  So here we go Mark...

one// What is your favorite memory with your blogger?
Mark: Purple.
Me: No seriously, what is your favorite memory with me?
Mark: What do you think it is? Dummy.
Me: Be serious.
Mark: Take a guess.
Me: I don't know. I can't pick your favorite memory.
Mark: Would you type it if I put it there?
Me: Maybe.
Mark: Are you sure?
Me: Maybe.
Mark: Someone trying to teach crackers how to swim.
Me: Is that really your favorite memory of me?
Mark: Right now it is.

(The teaching crackers how to swim is a reference to how we met... those of you who know us really well know the whole story, as for the rest of you... that story might be for another day... maybe....)

two// What is her best quality?
Mark: It sure isn't your indecisiveness.
Me: I'm waiting...
Mark: I love everything about you... except your indecisiveness.
Me: That is a copout answer. Seriously, what is my best quality? You have to pick something.
Mark: Your persistence.

three// What is something you enjoy doing together?
Mark: Drinking beer and wine.

four// What is your favorite post of hers that she has written?
Mark: I don't know.
Me: You can't think of one that you liked?
Mark: Nope.

(Side note, I have been asking him these questions as he is watching The Avengers.. I probably should have picked a better time to do this)

five// How much time do you think your blogger puts into blogging each week? And what are you normally up to when she is blogging?
Mark: 10 hours. Working.

Life Lately in the World of this Jersey Girl

In case you hadn't noticed, it's been pretty quiet around these parts this past week.  Not for lack of wanting to be here with you all, but because of the fact that since coming back from my cousin's wedding in Mexico my life has just been so darn busy!

After getting back from Mexico it was back to the grind with work for a few days and I must admit, while I missed some of my co-workers I did NOT miss all that we have to deal with on a regular basis.  Being a bartender has been fun, but I am starting to think that I have perhaps hit my limit with it and that it is truly time for me to move on.  Sure I have wanted to move on for a while and to put my education to use, but I didn't want to do it for less than I was making now.  But now I am really starting to think that taking a pay cut might be necessary in order to save my sanity.

Drinking Sweet Tea out of pitchers... cause that is how we roll
Thank goodness after our return I only worked 2 shifts before having another weekend off to enjoy some good times with great friends.  On Friday, December 5th Mark and I headed into West Chester to meet up with some friends for dinner and to watch the Old Fashioned Christmas Parade.  The only thing that would have made it better would been if it hadn't been raining.  But don't worry, despite the rain we still managed to have a great time!

On Saturday morning Mark and I got up and braved the rain to go cut down our Christmas tree.  My parents were supposed to come with us, but they smartly decided to stay home in their nice warm house instead of trudging through the mud and rain to find a tree.  Although the weather was less than pleasant, we still managed to find a great tree... it might be our biggest yet.  It took both of us to carry it from the car to our apartment... it was sooooo incredibly heavy.  We put it up on Saturday night to decorate whenever we had the time.

Our 2014 Christmas Tree!!!

This is definitely by far the biggest tree we have ever had

Sunday morning we got up to  head to NJ so that I could go to my friend from high school's baby shower.  I have known KD and KD since I don't even know when in high school and I was so happy to be invited to be a part of celebrating their baby girl!! It was also great to get to catch up with one of my other friends from high school... every time we all get together it reminds me of how much I love them and how much I miss them!

Sunday night we got to have some real NJ pizza (so much better than pizza in the Philly area) and also got to spend some time with my Grammy.  While I love spending time with her, I feel like it gets harder and harder each time I see her because I see how much she is deteriorating.  Alzheimer's (& dementia) is such a hard disease in that very often you can see your loved ones slipping away from you and losing their memories and all of that.  Grammy was one of the smartest people that I have ever known... I know that the smart, sharp, quick witted Grammy is still in there, but sometimes it is just really hard to see her and see how much she has lost.

On Monday Mark and I did a few things around the house for my parents before heading back home to West Chester.  Before we left I managed to set up the Snow Village for Mom which is one of my favorite things to do at the holidays.  I love to be able to create the different scenes... a town scene, a neighborhood scene, a church scene.... and I love that every year they look a little different.

When we got back home on Monday it was a super happy mail day for me as my new cell phone arrived along with my new Erin Condren Life Planner and note cards!

Our 2014 Tree all decorated

Starting on Tuesday I had a ridiculous week at work... closing Tuesday, opening as manager Wednesday, closing Thursday, closing Friday and opening as manager on Saturday.  That meant two "clopens" for me... which meant getting home after 2am and having to be back at work by 8am.

Saturday night we had dinner with friends who we haven't gotten to see much recently because mainly of my work schedule.  It was so nice to get to spend some time with them and it made me realize how much I miss those interactions with our college friends.

Sunday was a day for us to get a bunch of errands done as well as a day to finish our decorating and bake some Christmas cookies!!

Candle Holder Mark made from the part of our tree stump we cut off the bottom of the tree so it would fit in our house
Sunday was also the day that one of my best friends graduated from college after what I think she would describe as a long road to graduation so we were lucky enough to go out to celebrate with her!! It was great to get another night out with some of my favorite people... especially after what was one of the longest work weeks of my life!

Some of the best friends that a girl could ever ask for!!
So this is what has been going on in the crazy life of this Jersey girl since our return from Mexico!! Still lots to accomplish before Christmas (like shopping which is barely started), but I am confident that Mark and I will get it all done!!

What have you been up to lately?

Blogger Men Tell All... Thanksgiving Edition

Seeing as it is my birthday week and you all are getting to know me a little bit better this week, I figure this is also a good time for you to get to know my husband a little bit better.  We missed the Blogger Men Tell all link-up last month as the husband was in the UK and I just didn't get around to asking him the questions before he left... blogger fail.  BUT this month, though it has been crazy, we are both around and I have gotten him to answer these questions AND I am linking up ON TIME... blogging miracle!

So once again I am linking up with Samantha over at The Samantha Life, Becca over at Becoming Adorrable and Melissa over at Daily Chaos in order to get my husband a little bit more involved in this little blog of mine.
Me & the hubby... he always makes that face when I ask him to take selfies... I think he purposely tries to ruin them!
one// What food do you look forward to most at Thanksgiving dinner?
Mark: Pie.
Me: Any particular type of pie?
Mark: Nope. All pie.

two// Do you ever go shopping on Black Friday?
Mark: Once in a while. We haven't anymore because we have been driving around.
Me: I think he is referring to the fact that we are always traveling on the holidays so don't really have time to Black Friday Shop.

three// What's your favorite Thanksgiving tradition?
Mark: I don't know. Having turkey.

four// Do you travel for the Thanksgiving holiday or stay close to home?
Mark: We travel.

five// What are you most thankful for this year?
Mark: You.
Me: I'm waiting for more.
Mark: That's it.
Me: Are you sure there isn't anything else?
Mark: Yup. Is there something else I should be thankful for?

Once again my husband is a man of few words on here, but I swear in real life he does talk a bunch.  Maybe after he does a few more of these I'll get him to give more than one word answers without me having to ask follow up questions.

#tbt... A Williamsburg Engagement Weekend

This time 2 years ago I was enjoying roaming around Williamsburg, VA with my new fiance and having the time of my life.  As a sort of history nerd, I have always loved visiting historical places and I was so excited to find out that our surprise anniversary (& engagement!) trip 2 years ago was to Williamsburg.  Plus, as if spending time admiring my ring with my new fiance wasn't good enough, we were also able to spend some time with one of my BFFs who happened to live not too far from Williamsburg.  It was definitely a trip to remember and one of the best weekends of my life!

Getting to see one of my BFFs was an added bonus!
